Syntax-Brillian Seeks Approval For Taiwan Counsel

Law360, New York (April 6, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Syntax-Brillian Corp. has asked a federal court to approve the appointment of Pamir International Law Firm as special Taiwan counsel, in a bid by the bankrupt electronics manufacturer to protect itself against one of its largest creditors and an absent debt purchaser both based in Taiwan.

In a motion filed Thursday in the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware, Syntax-Brillian moved to retain the Taipei-based firm for assistance in creditor claims against Taiwan Kolin Co. Ltd. and potential litigation with Olevia International Group LLC,...
