SEC To Unveil Short-Sale Proposals Soon: Schapiro

Law360, New York (April 6, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission will unveil four proposals to control short-selling at a meeting this week, the commission's chief said Monday at a conference of institutional investors.

The remarks were part of a wide-ranging address to the spring 2009 meeting of the Council of Institutional Investors, where SEC Chairwoman Mary L. Schapiro outlined other aspects of changes the securities regulator wants to make as part of its modernization process.
