44 House Dems Urge Obama To Repeal ESA Rules

Law360, New York (April 6, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Forty-four Democrats in the U.S. House of Representatives have urged the Obama administration to reverse two rules of the Endangered Species Act, which govern the federal scientific review process and special provisions protecting polar bears, that former President Bush enacted near the end of his term.

In a letter addressed to Secretary of the Interior Ken Salazar and Secretary of Commerce Gary Locke on Friday, the Representatives asked the officials to withdraw the two ESA section 7 regulations, which they also opposed during the last administration....
