ITC Upholds Sucralose Ruling Against Tate & Lyle

Law360 (April 7, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. International Trade Commission has upheld a decision clearing most of the companies British sugar producer Tate & Lyle PLC accused of infringing patents for technology used to make sucralose, a leading artificial sweetener in the U.S.

In a final determination issued Monday, the full six-member commission found that a majority of the respondents did not infringe Tate & Lyle's patents, and issued a limited exclusion order against those companies that had defaulted or failed to participate in the ITC investigation.
