Life Insurers Await Word On TARP Fund Requests

Law360, New York (April 8, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Facing problems from potentially diminishing capital, life insurance companies are awaiting word from the U.S. Treasury Department on whether they can seek capital injections under the Troubled Assets Relief Program, which the industry says are needed to help avert further shocks to the financial system.
