Cessna MDL Judge Nixes Bid To Unseal Secret Docs

Law360 (April 8, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal judge in charge of multidistrict litigation over Cessna Aircraft Co.'s 208-series airplanes has denied a bid by plaintiffs to lift a protective order sealing documents prepared by the company on defects in the planes' warning system.

Magistrate Judge David Waxe of the U.S. District Court for the District of Kansas issued an order Tuesday refusing the motion, saying the plaintiffs' reasons for seeking disclosure of the information were trumped by Cessna's proprietary interests.
