This is not deterring foreign investors, however, with the total of foreign direct investment expected to reach $ 6.1 billion in the financial year 2017-2018, according to the Directorate of Investment and Company Administration (DICA). Some of this foreign investment will come into Myanmar in the form of greenfield manufacturing projects and other forms of investment, but a large amount will involve the acquisition and expansion of existing Myanmar businesses.
