3M Brings Suit Over Water-Filter Patents

Law360 (September 6, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Water-filter maker 3M has sprayed subsidiaries of Clorox Co. and retailer Sears Roebuck & Co. with a lawsuit, claiming they violated two of its patents covering a cartridge-based water purification and filtration system.

3M Co. unit 3M Innovative Properties Company brought the suit in the U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota on Aug. 31, and sought an injunction to stop Clorox’s Brita Products and Sears from making and selling the allegedly infringing products.
