MoFo Sued For Malpractice Over 'Staggering' $5M Bill

Law360, New York (April 13, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Former Morrison & Foerster LLP client Ecast Inc. has sued the firm for legal malpractice, claiming MoFo charged a “staggering” $4.8 million in attorneys’ fees for representation in a patent infringement suit the broadband media company alleges it was forced to settle because of the firm’s negligent behavior.

Ecast filed the suit Wednesday in the Superior Court of the State of California, County of San Francisco, accusing MoFo and former partners Gerald P. Dodson and Erica D. Wilson of legal malpractice and breach of fiduciary duty....
