Biotech Companies Settle Animal Cloning Patent Suit

Law360, New York (September 6, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Biotech companies Advanced Cell Technology Inc. and Start Licensing have settled a patent interference dispute over a method used in cloning sheep known as nuclear transfer technology.

Geron won the first two rounds of litigation, and Advanced Cell has dismissed its appeal to the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia of the case with prejudice, transferring control of related animal-cloning patents to Start Licensing.
