Workers Win Class Action Suit Against Union

Law360 (September 6, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A labor union has vowed to appeal after employees won a class action suit in which they claimed the union violated federal law by recording workers’ license plate numbers and using the numbers to track down potential new members.

It is extremely unusual for a union to be hit with a class action by workers it’s trying to galvanize. But that may change, said Robert Welsh, outside counsel for Cintas—the company that employs the workers who filed the suit.
