Former Hogan Partner Named For Top DOE Post

Poneman for deputy secretary at the U.S. Department of Energy, President Obama has chosen an expert on nuclear energy issues, a venerated National Security Council veteran — and a former partner at Hogan & Hartson LLP.

On Tuesday, the White House announced Poneman’s nomination, one that the administration expects will complement the strong scientific bona fides of the department’s leadership with Poneman’s vast knowledge of nuclear energy policy and national security.
