EPA Floats Proposal To Increase Ethanol Cap

Law360 (April 16, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency is asking for feedback on a proposal to raise the limit on ethanol content in gasoline, a move that would please the beleaguered ethanol industry.

In reaction to an application submitted by ethanol trade group Growth Energy and 54 ethanol manufacturers, the EPA asked Thursday for feedback on a proposal to permit the use of E15, or gasoline comprised of 15 percent ethanol, in conventional automobiles.
