Minn. Reaches Deals With Bridge Collapse Victims

Law360, New York (April 16, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The state of Minnesota has reached settlements with the nearly 180 eligible victims of the Interstate 35W Bridge collapse that killed 13 and injured 145 people in 2007.

The state said Thursday that all of the 179 eligible victims have accepted the settlements, which came out of a $36.64 million fund. Details on specific settlement amounts were not released.

Last May, Minnesota Gov. Tim Pawlenty signed a law to create the multimillion-dollar settlement fund to compensate survivors of the August 2007 collapse of the I-35W bridge...
