Collins & Aikman Blasts Creditors' Bid

Law360, New York (September 7, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Collins & Aikman Corp. fired back at its unsecured creditors Tuesday, calling their bid to investigate three of the company’s largest suppliers a ploy to bolster their bargaining position.

The bankrupt auto parts maker’s unsecured creditors had asked the court for permission to investigate Ford, DaimlerChrysler and GM over possible antitrust and fraudulent transfer claims.

Collins & Aikman’s Chapter 11 plan was filed with the court on August 31.
