FTC Issues Revised Rule On Oil Market Manipulation

Law360, New York (April 16, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Federal Trade Commission has proposed a revised rule meant to target manipulation of crude oil and gas markets after receiving a series of comments on a previous version of the mandate on several key issues.

The agency announced the latest version of the rule in a revised notice of proposed rulemaking Thursday on its Web site, saying it would “move quickly” to conclude the rulemaking proceedings once the period for public comments closed on May 20.
