Anti-Plagiarism Progam Is Fair Use: 4th Circ.

Law360 (April 16, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal appeals court has ruled that the anti-plagiarism service iParadigms LLC does not violate copyright law in archiving student work and revived the company's cross-claim against one of the students who filed the case.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit on Thursday upheld a lower court decision finding that the company's use of student work was protected from copyright liability under the fair use doctrine.
