Del. Judge Tosses 'Tactical' Samsung License Breach Suit

Law360, New York (October 11, 2017, 3:44 PM EDT) -- A Delaware federal judge on Tuesday tossed Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd.’s breach of contract suit against Imperium IP Holdings Ltd., saying that the “tactical” case is a waste of judicial resources because nearly identical claims are already playing out on appeal in a separate case.

Samsung and Imperium have been locked in a patent infringement suit in the Eastern District of Texas since 2014, when Imperium sued for alleged patent infringement over Samsung’s use of imaging technology in its mobile devices.
