Eurotunnel Creditors Question Court's Jurisdiction

Law360, New York (September 7, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A slew of Eurotunnel's creditors have filed objections with the Tribunal de Commerce de Paris, questioning whether the French court has jurisdiction over the beleaguered channel operator’s English units.

Individual bondholders and higher-ranking creditors entered the confidential objections to the court’s authority before Friday’s deadline, according to Dow Jones sources.

The protests were not expected to hold up the safeguard procedure, the French equivalent of U.S. Chapter 11 protection, which the court granted Eurotunnel on August 2.
