GCs To Throw More Work To Outside Counsel In 2018

Law360, New York (October 16, 2017, 6:26 PM EDT) -- After a decade of meager growth in corporate legal spending, companies are projected to add almost $2 billion to the amount they spend on outside counsel in 2018, according to a new survey.

Marking a dramatic shift from previous years, corporate legal departments are opting to shift more of their legal spend to outside law firms, paring down internal spending as matters become increasingly high-stakes and complex, according to the BTI Practice Outlook 2018 report released Tuesday by BTI Consulting Group (Wellesley, Massachusetts).
