Turnover High At Many Firms Despite Greater Pay, Benefits

Law360, New York (October 18, 2017, 8:08 PM EDT) -- Law firms are offering better compensation and more attractive perks to their attorneys, but it hasn’t managed to quell the trend of lawyers leaving in droves from small and midsize firms, according to a new survey.

The Association of Legal Administrators’ 2017 compensation and benefits survey found that despite a significant move on firms’ part to improve attorneys’ work-life balance by providing increased benefits and decreasing billable-hour goals, attorney turnover rose in 2017 by more than a quarter from the previous year.
