Barr Tries To Cut Generic Market By Entering It

Law360 (September 8, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Barr Pharmaceuticals Inc. is launching a generic of a subsidiary’s birth control drug, Seasonale, after a rival won U.S. Food and Drug Administration approval of a generic equivalent.

Watson Pharmaceuticals filed an Abbreviated New Drug Application for levonorgestrel/ethinyl estradioal tablets following expiration of Barr’s product exclusivity earlier this month.
