PTAB Rules For Cable Giants In TQ Delta Patents Row

Law360, New York (October 30, 2017, 9:54 PM EDT) -- The Patent Trial and Appeal Board has held that five TQ Delta communications technology patents are invalid in America Invents Act inter partes reviews, saying petitioners Cisco Systems, Dish Network, Comcast Cable and others demonstrated that the asserted claims are obvious from prior art.

In six final written decisions issued last week, the board ruled that the companies had shown that the asserted claims of the patents were obvious in light of various prior art references, which was different from the reasoning the companies had argued with.
