Varney's Vision Of Antitrust Enforcement

Law360, New York (April 21, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Senate confirmed Christine Varney as assistant attorney general in charge of the Antitrust Division of the U.S. Department of Justice on April 20, 2009.

Ms. Varney’s confirmation follows President Obama’s recent elevation of Federal Trade Commissioner Jon Leibowitz to the FTC chairmanship.

With Varney’s confirmation the Obama administration has now completed its top-level restaffing of both antitrust enforcement agencies.
