Proposed Delaware River Fracking Ban Slammed At Hearing
Law360, Philadelphia (October 31, 2017, 4:54 PM EDT) -- Members of Pennsylvania’s business and agricultural communities told Republican lawmakers during a hearing on Tuesday that a proposed ban on hydraulic fracturing inside the Delaware River basin threatens to rob landowners of their rights and close the door on much-needed economic growth in the region.
Testimony provided to the House Majority Policy Committee during a more than two-hour meeting in Wayne County slammed the Delaware River Basin Commission’s recent move to enact the drilling ban as a power grab that exceeded the agency’s authority.
