Crane Preservation Bill Flies Through House

Law360, New York (April 22, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- By a wide margin, the U.S. House of Representatives has approved a bill establishing a grant program dedicated to conserving cranes, demonstrating to supporters that there may be sufficient momentum behind the proposal to pass the legislature.

The House on Tuesday approved the the Crane Conservation Act of 2009, H.R. 388, by a vote of 304 to 118, marking an early exit from that chamber on its way to the Senate, said Jim Harris, vice president of the International Crane Foundation, a supporter of the proposal....
