Teva Beats Patent Claims Over Uceris Generic

Law360, Chicago (November 1, 2017, 9:45 PM EDT) -- Teva and another generic-drug maker have beaten a patent infringement suit in Delaware federal court from Irish pharmaceutical company Cosmo Technologies Ltd. over a planned generic version of colitis medication Uceris.

U.S. District Judge Leonard P. Stark issued a final order Friday freeing Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd. and New Jersey-based Alvogen Pine Brook LLC from claims they infringed patents for 9-milligram budesonide extended-release tablets. While the judge's memorandum was sealed, the generics makers had argued that the patent was invalid as obvious.
