'Deceitful' Ex-Underwriter Avoids Jail For Insurance Fraud

Law360, London (November 7, 2017, 1:28 PM GMT) -- An experienced U.K. underwriter who used five different names to make fraudulent insurance claims worth more than £19,000 ($25,000) has been handed a 15-month suspended sentence, police said.

Rachel Shoer was sentenced on Monday at Wolverhampton Crown Court, in the West Midlands, after she pleaded guilty to insurance fraud offenses over seven years, from 2009 to 2016.
