Supreme Court To Weigh Gender Discrimination Case

Law360, New York (September 8, 2006, 12:00 AM EDT) -- In a brief filed with the U.S. Supreme Court this week, attorneys argued that an appeals court was wrong when it decided that Goodyear Tire and Rubber Co. wasn’t liable for damages related to gender discrimination because too much time had passed.

The U.S. Supreme Court will hear an appeal of the decision by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit in October. The case centers on Lilly Ledbetter, who claims that Goodyear paid her less than her male counterparts for years.
