Rep. Wants Probe Of AIG War Zone Health Claims

Law360 (April 23, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Rep. Elijah Cummings, D-Md., is calling for a congressional probe of reports that American International Group Inc. and other health insurers are systematically and unfairly denying claims for civilian contractors who were killed or injured in Iraq and Afghanistan.

Cummings, a senior member of the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, on Wednesday called for a probe of AIG and other insurers in a letter to Rep. Dennis J. Kucinich, D-Ohio, chairman of the subcommittee on domestic policy.
