ESMA Guides Cos. On Phone-Taping, Record-Keeping Hurdles

Law360, London (November 10, 2017, 1:08 PM GMT) -- Europe’s securities regulator issued a series of major updates on Friday, covering inducements, phone-taping and record-keeping, to help firms adjust to the onerous new Markets in Financial Instruments Directive, which comes into force in January.

The European Securities and Markets Authority added four so-called Q&As to documents that tell firms how they must implement those parts of the formidable new directive, known as MiFID II, that cover investor protection.
