Sipco Defends Wireless Network Patent To PTAB

Law360, Washington (November 13, 2017, 10:25 PM EST) -- Wireless network company Sipco LLC defended its wireless network gateway patent before the Patent Trial and Appeal Board on Monday, but faced skepticism during the oral hearing as a competitor maintained that it simply combined decades-old technology in an obvious way.

Amid the challenge from Emerson Electric Co., Sipco attorney Gregory J. Gonsalves told the three-judge panel that the system for continuously optimizing existing wireless pathways fulfilled a long-sought "packet-based system that is both robust and efficient."
