CFPB Seeks Information On Free Credit Report Access

Law360, New York (November 14, 2017, 1:30 PM EST) -- The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau on Monday said that it is looking for information about companies that offer access to free credit reports, including how consumers use that information and how companies and nonprofit organizations go about providing the data.

The federal consumer finance watchdog issued a list of 15 questions in a Federal Register notice seeking information from both consumers and the industry about the increase in the number of companies that provide free access to credit reports.
