Insurance Act Doesn't Bar PTSD Claims: Wash. Court

Law360 (April 28, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The Washington Industrial Insurance Act doesn't bar the claims of a janitor alleging she suffered emotional distress after a school superintendent ordered her to clean the scene of a student's suicide, a state appellate court has determined.

The Court of Appeals of the State of Washington on April 21 overturned Spokane Superior Court's decision against janitor Debbie Rothwell.
