Mass. Jury's $4.5M Retaliation Verdict Stands

Law360, New York (April 28, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Massachusetts Superior Court judge has rejected the city of Cambridge's challenges to a jury's May 2008 verdict finding that Cambridge retaliated against a former employee who lodged a discrimination complaint in 1998, and should pay her $4.5 million in damages.

Judge Bonnie H. MacLeod-Mancuso denied several post-trial motions from Cambridge in a ruling issued on April 24, including motions seeking a new trial and for judgment notwithstanding the verdict.
