EPA, Enviros Clash On Timelines For Overdue Toxic Air Rules

Law360, Washington (November 30, 2017, 4:42 PM EST) -- A D.C. federal judge said Thursday she may ask for more information on the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s available resources to help her sort out how much time is appropriate to update rules for toxic air pollutants that environmental groups sued to speed up.

The environmental groups, which include the Sierra Club, say the EPA is years behind its mandatory Clean Air Act deadlines and they want to require the agency to complete updates for all nine categories in two-year time frames at the outside. The...
