NEPA Doesn't Apply To Oil, Gas Projects: Pa. Groups

Law360, New York (April 28, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Two Pennsylvania groups representing oil interests have argued that the U.S. Forest Service doesn't have the authority to apply the National Environmental Policy Act's review standards to private oil and gas drilling in the Allegheny National Forest.

The Pennsylvania Oil and Gas Association and the Allegheny Forest Alliance moved for summary judgment for their NEPA-related claims on Tuesday in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Pennsylvania.
