Specter Switch Signals New Hope For EFCA

Law360, New York (April 29, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- As Sen. Arlen Specter's decision to switch parties offers fresh hope to supporters of the proposed Employee Free Choice Act, new research reveals the union-friendly bill is weighing on the minds of most companies.

About 85 percent of companies were concerned about the impact of the EFCA, while almost 90 percent of employers thought the bill would increase their company's vulnerability to unions, according to a survey of 178 companies by global consultancy firm Hay Group.
