Ex-Hedge Fund Exec Pleads Guilty To Conspiracy

Law360, New York (April 29, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- The former head securities trader of the defunct Lancer Group hedge funds has pled guilty to criminal charges alleging that he and four others manipulated stock trades to swindle investors out of more than $200 million.

Eric Hauser, 65, pled guilty Tuesday to one count of conspiracy to commit mail, wire and securities fraud. In exchange, federal prosecutors have agreed to drop six other fraud charges against him, according to a plea agreement filed in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida....
