Orrick Stiffed Headhunter After Hiring Partner: Suit

Law360 (April 30, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- Orrick Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP took a partner and ran without paying a $450,000 placement fee to a recruiting firm, a lawsuit alleges.

The law firm hired three attorneys allegedly recommended by recruiting firm Steven Douglas Associates Inc. and then failed to pay an agreed-upon placement fee, according to a lawsuit under way in the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida.
