Roche Unit Recalls Defective Insulin Pumps

Law360 (April 30, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Roche Holding AG subsidiary has recalled insulin pumps after discovering that some of the pumps’ “up” and “down” buttons did not work properly.

Disetronic Medical Systems Inc. said Thursday it was notifying customers, distributors and health care professionals about a potential defect in some of its Accu-Chek Spirit insulin pumps that were shipped to the U.S., according to a company recall notice on the U.S. Food and Drug Administration’s Web site.
