Fla. Court Revives Spat Against Lloyd's Reinsurers

Law360, New York (May 4, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A Florida appeals court has reinstated Advantage General Insurance Co. Ltd.'s suit seeking to recover reinsurance benefits from two reinsurers doing business as Lloyd's of London.

The District Court of Appeal of the State of Florida ruled Thursday that the trial court had erred in dismissing the complaint against reinsurers Kiln PLC and QBE International Insurance Ltd. under a state law barring litigation from unauthorized insurers and remanded the suit.
