Boston Scientific , Guidant Settle Patent Suits Over Drug-Coated Stents

Law360, New York (February 21, 2004, 12:00 AM EST) -- Medical device makers Boston Scientific and Guidant Corporation agreed to settle a number of lawsuits in which each has accused the other of patent infringement, the companies said.

The two companies have sued each other for patent infringement over coronary stents, coronary stent delivery systems and dilatation catheters.

Under the settlement agreement, all pending disputes between the companies will be immediately dismissed. In addition, the companies have agreed to cross license patents in certain specified technology areas.
