Business Groups Fight Okla. E-Verify Law In 10th Circ.

Law360, New York (May 4, 2009, 12:00 AM EDT) -- A federal appeals court will determine whether to uphold a preliminary injunction on an Oklahoma law making it mandatory for companies to electronically verify whether their employees can work in the U.S. when applying for state contracts.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Tenth Circuit heard oral arguments Monday on three sections of the Oklahoma Taxpayer and Citizen Protection Act of 2007, which opponents of the act argue violate federal immigration law.
