Bankrupt Laser Co. Battles Bid To Force Liquidation

Law360, New York (January 25, 2013, 2:16 PM EST) -- Oregon laser maker Deep Photonics Corp. said Thursday that its former CEO and others can't dismiss its bankruptcy case or force it into liquidation, arguing they were just trying to avoid separate litigation accusing them of swiping trade secrets from Deep Photonics.

Deep Photonics said its bankruptcy proceedings were separate from litigation it has been pursuing against its former CEO Joseph G. LaChappelle and others, and that those parties couldn't use that litigation as a basis for forcing Deep Photonics out of bankruptcy or to convert...
