AA Workers Would Get Pay Raise In US Airways Merger

Law360, New York (January 28, 2013, 7:19 PM EST) -- The Transportation Workers Union, which represents American Airlines ground workers, said Monday that its members would get a 4.3 percent pay raise if the carrier merges with U.S. Airways Group Inc.

The two airlines and the union reached a three-way memorandum of understanding, suggesting a potential tie-up between American Airlines and U.S. Airways is likely. The terms of the agreement would only become effective in the event that the two airlines do in fact merge, the union said.
