Fresh & Easy Gets Nod For Ch. 11 Disclosure Statement

Law360, Wilmington (May 30, 2014, 5:36 PM EDT) -- A Delaware bankruptcy judge on Friday approved Fresh & Easy Neighborhood Market Inc.'s Chapter 11 disclosure statement, allowing the estate of the high-end supermarket chain to move forward with a liquidation plan that would distribute more than $100 million to creditors.

U.S. Bankruptcy Judge Kevin J. Carey signed off on the disclosure statement at a hearing in Wilmington, setting the stage for plan confirmation hearing in early July.

Fresh & Easy has sold off nearly all of its assets since entering Chapter 11 in September, and approval of the disclosure statement represents "another important step" in the bankruptcy process, debtors' counsel...
