Vitamin World Seeks Ch. 11 OK For Crash Store Closings

Law360, Wilmington (November 14, 2017, 9:18 PM EST) -- Citing weak sales at dozens of its stores, bankrupt health supply retailer Vitamin World Inc. asked a Delaware court Tuesday to quickly lift most restrictions on liquidation sales and store abandonments.

In a motion for expedited approval, the company said that “unforeseen operational challenges and liquidity issues” pushed the company into the crash sale effort while also pursuing sale of the remaining business as a going concern.
