A Kentucky federal judge on Tuesday sentenced a former attorney for his role in an oil and gas investment scheme through Mid-America Energy, Inc. and Global Energy Group, which allegedly defrauded investors out of more than $34 million, according to Wednesday news reports.

A federal jury in Kentucky returned guilty verdicts Wednesday against two men accused of operating fraudulent oil and gas investment schemes through Mid-America Energy Inc. and Global Energy Group that targeted senior citizens.
