Hyundai Motor America Inc. and its subsidiary Kia Motors America Inc. must pay a technology company ongoing royalties on automobiles they sold that a jury found infringed car audio systems patents, a Texas federal judge ruled Wednesday.

A jury has awarded patent-licensing company Affinity Labs of Texas LLC roughly $13 million, finding that Hyundai Motor America Inc., Volkswagen Group of America Inc. and Kia Motors America Inc. infringe two patents covering car audio technology.
